Our little planner...

Maddy liked her friend Greta's "jars of money" idea and wanted to create her own system. She thought about what she would do with her money earned sorting socks yesterday... ($1 in change!) After a quiet 30 minutes in her room she showed me her new system! Just in case the picture is hard to understand... ;-)
"For the Poor", "Spending", and "Saving".
Saving is written backwards because she thought it would be like writing on a mirror...and was upset to find it was not... I love the way she thinks through things! The jars will be slow going at $1 or so per week, but she is happy to have a plan!
(She was surprised to find that $0.33 would not buy much at Jolley's...but said that she would just have to wait until next week to get the pink pen!)
At that point, I really fought hard to stop from just buying her the $1.39 pen! She will be pretty proud of herself when she buys it with her "spending" money...She is a uniquely wonderful little girl!
*We also are completely sure she is my daughter after she spent all evening filling in her 2009 calendar from Dad. B-days, holidays, school hours, lesson dates... it is all on there!!! Matt was
laughing as well as horrified watching this "Sonya" trait in action. ;-)

Crystal Growing Scientists....
Mads got what she asked Santa for...a science kit and a magic kit! So, dad donned his forehead "lamp" and she wore the kit goggles for a little
science fun. Lots of mixing, measuring and very vague directions! Sadly, after 3 days - no crystals!!! Possibly, Matt's headlight shone too brightly and blurred the directions??
However, Maddy had a blast and wore the goggles all afternoon. :-)

It was a fun weekend...Matt's family came up for a cousins wedding and to celebrate
Grammy Sherries big 6-0!! Madeline decorated early for Valentines to have a heart b-day party....
The kids had a great time playing and the Wii got some use! ;-)
Grey as usual is sporting his "monster face"... Maddy is wearing her new dress from Grammy.
She tried it on and exclaimed "I look just like a yodeler!" (she has been watching the Sound of Music lately...)
On a side note - we found Grey's stash of chocolate syrup and Mrs. Butterworth's bottle in the theater room... he told us he is "very neaky.."

Contacts and Butterworth's

So, our sweet baby boy Grey, woke up hungry but had nothing to eat. He bustled into the bathroom to find a bite. Nothing there but contacts and soap. He had had soap before (he has a mouth like his mother) and knew he didn't want to feast on that. Next up... Contacts.
So he munched on the Accuvue (later telling us "Yuck! I don't yike those!")
Then not yet full he headed to the kitchen, pulled out the bottle of Mrs. Butterworth's (thankfully only 1/3 full) and drank the bottle.
Mom noticed his sticky hands and asked him why....."I drink syrup!" Good news for Grey - mom couldn't see him without any contacts as he ran off laughing like a lunatic.
